  • The Iowa State women are at home in Big 12 action tonight (Wednesday night), to host TCU. The Cyclones are 1-2 in the league race after a loss at Oklahoma. ISU coach Bill Fennelly says the Cyclones need to be ready for TCU’s changing defenses.
  • Northern Iowa takes a share of the Missouri Valley lead into tonight’s (Wednesday night’s) game at home against Valparaiso. The Panthers are 3-1 in the Valley while the Crusaders are 2-2 after rallying for a home win over Drake. UNI coach Ben Jacobson says Valparaiso is more guard dominated this year.
  • A tough stretch begins for the Iowa State men’s basketball team. Four of the Cyclones next five opponents are nationally ranked beginning with Wednesday night’s game at second ranked Baylor. ISU coach Steve Prohm says ball movement is the key against Baylor’s defense. Under coach Scoitt Drew the Bears are 13-1. Prohm wants sophomore guard Tyrese Haliburton to be even more aggressive on offense. Haliburton is averaging nearly 17 points per game. The Cyclones have lost six straight game in Waco but several have been close.
