The Creston Police Department reports several recent arrests. At around 3-a.m. Sunday, 21-year old Kendrick Davis, of Creston, was arrested on charges of Theft in the 2nd  and Burglary 2nd Degrees. Davis was later released from the Union County Jail on a $15,000 bond. At around 10:15-a.m. Sunday, 37-year old Becky Bochniak, of Creston, was arrested for Driving While Suspended. She was released from the Union County Jail on a $300 bond. Sunday afternoon, 45-year old Douglas Stevens, of Creston, was arrested for Driving While Barred. He was released from the Union County Jail on a $2000 bond. And, Sunday evening, 35-year old Leslie Smith, of Mount Ayr, was arrested in Creston for Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drugs and Driving While Suspended. He was released from the Union County Jail on a $1300 bond.

43-year old Jeffrey John Henkelman, of Osceola, was arrested Sunday afternoon in Creston, on a warrant for Criminal Mischief in the 5th Degree along with urinating/or defecating in Public. He was later released on a $300 bond.

46-year old Jay Rains, of Creston, was arrested Saturday evening, for Public Intoxication. He was later released on a $300 bond. Friday night, 52-year old Craig Cottrell, of Creston, was arrested for Simple Assault. He was released on a Promise to Appear.

Creston Police received five reports of break-in’s and/or vandalism over the past few days. This past Friday: a Creston man reported that during the overnight hours of Thursday into Friday, someone broke into his residence and stole DVDS, a 24 inch TV, 2 DVD players. Estimated loss of $420; The Casey’s store on New York Ave. in Creston reported to Police Friday, that recently someone had vandalized the West Side of the building with Orange Spray Paint. Estimated damage of $50;  and, a Creston woman reported that during the overnight hours Thursday into Friday, someone entered the garage at her residence in the 700 block of N. Poplar in Creston, and stole a Dewalt Radio and Dewalt Air Compressor. The loss was estimated at $450.

And, Saturday evening, a Creston man reported to Police that someone had entered his home in the 300 block of S. Vine Street, and stole a handgun that was in a locked case. The loss was estimated at $200.
