The State Girls Swim Meet got underway on Friday in Marshalltown with a number of prelim events contested to determine finalists for Saturday. Atlantic’s Clare Christensen qualified for the 50 Yard Freestyle Finals with the 11th fastest time of 24.50. Christensen then also had the 11th fastest time in the 100 Yard Freestyle Prelims to qualify for the finals. Her time in that 100 Yard Free race was 53.63. Annamaria Lowary just missed out on the 200 Yard Freestyle Finals with a 23rd fastest time of 1:59.66. Lowary also finished 24th in the 500 Free Prelims with a time of 5:18.45.

To go along with Christensen in the 50 Yard and 100 Yard Free Finals, the Trojans will also have 2 other events competing. The 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Aleah Hermansen, Kate Lanhuis, Annamaria Lowary, and Clare Christensen will compete with the 12th best qualifying time. The 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Hermansen, Alexes Reynolds, Lowary, and Christensen will test their 16th fastest time of 3:42.29.
