Cass County Sheriff’s report (9/3/19)

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office has released a report on arrests and accidents that took place over the past week. On August 27th, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 24-year old Cammi Jo Nelson, of Atlantic, on a charge of OWI 1st Offense. Nelson was taken to the Cass County Jail and released later that day on her own recognizance. That same day, 20-year old John Wesley King IV, of Atlantic, turned himself in at the Cass County Jail on an Atlantic Police Department warrant for Sexual Abuse 3rd Offense (C Felony). King was later released on $10,000 bond.

On August 28th, at 5:39 p.m., the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one-vehicle accident on Newport Road. A 2003 Dodge Ram driven by 16-year old Katelyn Ann Marie Johnson, of Stuart, was eastbound on Newport Road when the teen lost control on loose gravel and the pickup rolled into the south ditch. Johnson and a passenger, 15-year old Haylee Mae Null, of Greenfield, were transported to CCMH by Medivac and Massena Rescue. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $7,500.

On Sunday, September 1st, Cass County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 46-year old Billy Jack Simon, of Exira, on charges of OWI 3rd/Subsequent (a Class D Felony) and Driving While Revoked. Simon was taken to the Cass County Jail and released later that day on his own recognizance. That same day, 31-year old Jacob Jeffrey Dickinson, of Essex, was arrested in Cass County on a charge of OWI 1st Offense. Dickinson was taken to the Cass County Jail and released the following day on $1,000 bond.

And on Monday, 62-year old Terry Dean Calhoun, of Anita, was arrested on charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver more than 5 Grams of Meth (a Class B Felony); Drug Tax Stamp Violation (Class D Felony); Possession of Marijuana 3rd/Subsequent Offense; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Calhoun was taken to the Cass County Jail where he remains held on $32,300 bond.
