Comments from Atlantic Head Coach Michelle Blake:
“Overall, we came out really strong in the opening day. Obviously, there are always things to work on and we just keep plugging away and playing point for point. These girls have come so far in the last year and they are only going to get better as the year goes on. We opened the day really strong against a very solid team in Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson and battled through that whole match. After sitting for a bit, we came out and beat an extremely energetic and well-put together team in Riverside. We carried that momentum into Earlham. We got down in the first set but only continued to battling, winning that game in 3 sets. We moved on to the championship bracket of the tournament and played Denison the first game, falling to them in only two sets to end the day. We played really well as a team and we only look to gain more confidence as we move into a big week ahead with a quad on Tuesday and the ADM invitational on Thursday.”
