A bull on the High and Dry Road in Union County, was struck and killed by a van late Friday night. The Union County Sheriff’s Office says the driver of the van, 26-year old Samantha Jolene Killion, of Creston, was not injured during the collision. The accident happened at around 11:15-p.m. as a 2005 Chevy Venture minivan driven by Killion was northbound on High and Dry Road. Immediately after crossing a bridge, the van struck a Black Angus bull that was standing in the middle of the northbound lane.

After the impact, both the van and bull went into the west side ditch. The van sustained heavy front-end damage (estimated at $3,500). The bull, owned by Stuart Ford, of Bridgewater, died at the scene. Its value was placed at $5,000.
