The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, Saturday afternoon, said a man in a surveillance video, and the vehicle photographed in an alleged attempted Fremont County abduction case, has been located and has been cleared as a suspect in the case.

Authorities say the man was interviewed by law enforcement and with the aid of a personal tracking app, he was able to give detailed location information to eliminate himself as a suspect or involved party. The investigation is still ongoing at this time and anyone with information is asked to contact the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office at 712-374-2424.

In their original report, authorities said the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office and the Tabor Police Department were looking for a male in connection with a possible attempted child abduction in Tabor. They reported that, at around 7:40-p.m., Friday,  deputies were contacted by several juveniles about a suspicious white male that had approached them near the Tabor Library.

Witnesses advised the male approached one of the juveniles, advised that he knew their father and he was supposed to drive the juvenile home.  The juveniles fled the area and contacted law enforcement. Deputies were looking for the White Ford Dually pickup with a faded logo and the letters CBS on the driver’s door.  The vehicle was missing the front bumper. The male was described as being heavy-set, in his 40’s or 50’s with a beard and short cropped brown or gray hair.

The vehicle was also seen in the area of both the parks in Tabor and Sidney.
