Injury accident in Creston Friday afternoon

Authorities in Union County say one person was injured during a collision Friday afternoon at the intersection of Taylor and Abell Streets, in Creston. According to Creston Police, a 1988 Chevy Lumina driven by 16-year old Kolby Richard Hulett, of Creston, was traveling west on U-S Highway 34/Taylor Street at around 1-p.m.

A 2005 Chevy Cobalt driven by 50-year old Dean Lewis Richards, of Creston, was stopped in traffic, waiting for cross-traffic, so he could make a left turn onto Abell Street. As he was waiting, the Lumina struck his Cobalt in the rear.

Richards suffered unknown/possible injuries, and was transported to the Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston, by GRMC 1st Responders. Damage from the collision amounted to $2,500. No citations were issued.
