2 from Atlantic injured in Missouri boating accident, Saturday

The Missouri State Patrol reports two people from Atlantic along with three other persons were injured, during a boating accident Saturday night at the Lake of the Ozarks. According to the report, 59-year-old Kelly Wise, of Atlantic suffered minor injuries during the accident. His wife Tammy suffered moderate injuries.

The report says the collision happened at the four mile mark of the Osage Arm around 10 p.m., as a 2002 Formula boat piloted by Kelly Wise was headed upstream at the same time a 1990 Formula boat piloted by 37-year old Bradley Siebeneck, of Holts Summit, MO., was traveling downstream. The Patrol says Kelly Wise was arrested for Boating While Intoxicated (BWI).

Kelly and Tammy Wise were transported by EMS to Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, MO.  Siebeneck suffered minor injuries. Three of his passengers were injured, including 37-year-old Nathan Sneller, of Jefferson City, MO., who suffered serious injuries and was flown by air ambulance to University Hospital, 42-year-old Brian Basham of Eldon, Missouri was taken to Lake Regional for treatment of minor injuries. 39-year-old Jason Russell of Eugene, Missouri was reported missing from the accident scene and had still not been located as of the last report.

Both vessels sustained extensive damage. The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues its search for Russell and an investigation into the accident remains underway.
