Shenandoah wins Fillies Tennis Invitational

Shenandoah won their home girls tennis tournament on Saturday. They took the Fillies Invitational crown by scoring 14 points to edge out Glenwood by 1. St. Albert finished third and Denison-Schleswig was fourth.

Glenwood’s Brooklyn Taylor won the No. 1 Singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Alesha Johnson of St. Albert in the final. The third place match went to Mariah Munsinger who grabbed a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Hannah Auen of Denison-Schleswig.

Nichole and Natalie Gilbert of Shenandoah took the No. 1 Doubles title with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Erin Stanley and Brielle Smith of Glenwood in the final. Third place went to Allison Narmi and Abby Barnes of St. Albert with a 7-6, 6-1 win over Ali Thul and Mireya Patino of Denison-Schleswig.

The No. 2 Singles Title went to Jessica Sun of Shenandoah. Sun defeated Lexi Bird of Glenwood in the final. Reegan Wolford of St. Albert own the third place match over Kayla Rauch of Denison-Schleswig.

The Shenandoah duo of Donivan Kinghorn and Alexis McGinnis won the No. 2 Doubles bracket with a win over Ashley Goy and Madeline Becker of Glenwood. Denison-Schleswig’s Ashley Rivas and Jocelyn Olivera were third.
