IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Megan Gustafson scored 27 points and added 17 rebounds to become the Big Ten Conference’s all-time leader in double-doubles while leading No. 14 Iowa to an 88-66 win over Illinois. Gustafson, who was 9-of-11 shooting from the field and the foul line, had her 78th career double-double to break a tie with former Ohio State standout Janel Lavender.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Kaila Charles scored 22 points, Blair Watson added 17 and No. 7 Maryland used a big third quarter to blow past Nebraska 89-63 for its eighth straight victory. Standing alone atop the Big Ten, the Terrapins face No. 14 Iowa on the road Sunday with first place on the line. Nicea Eiely led the Cornhuskers with 18 points.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — A California judge has signed an arrest warrant for Nebraska football player Maurice Washington. He is charged with a felony count of possessing a video or photograph of a person under 18 who is engaging in or simulating sexual conduct and a misdemeanor count of distributing that video without consent, leading to the person suffering emotional distress. Defense attorney John Ball says his client will voluntarily appear in court in California. The case involves Washington’s former girlfriend.

SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) — The Kansas City Royals and reliever Jake Diekman agreed to a one-year contract that guarantees $2.75 million and includes a mutual option for 2020 plus bonuses that could make it worth $10 million over two seasons. The 32-year-old spent last season with Texas and Arizona, making 71 appearances with a career-worst 4.73 ERA. Kansas City made room on its 40-man roster by placing right-hander Jesse Hahn on the 60-day injured list. Hahn is recovering from Tommy John surgery.

UNDATED (AP) — Missouri filed a notice of appeal with the NCAA’s committee on infractions as it begins to fight what it considers overly harsh sanctions for academic misconduct involving a former tutor. The NCAA banned the football, baseball and softball programs from the postseason for a year and placed the entire athletic department on probation late last month. Missouri also was docked scholarships and given recruiting restrictions among other punishments.
