The Exira-EHK Spartans will play host to Rolling Valley Conference rival CAM for a basketball doubleheader tonight and we’ll have the games on KJAN. It figures to be a great atmosphere with a couple of competetive contests.

The girls game will feature the 14-1 Cougars against the 13-5 Spartans. CAM won the first meeting back on December 11th in Anita by a 64-53 margin. The Cougars are led by Madison Gettler. The senior is averaging 19.1 points per game and she leads the Cougars in rebounds (106), assists (56), and steals (59) as well. The Spartans have Tatum Grubbs averaging 13.5 points per contest and Macy Emgarten averaging 10.8 per outing.

The boys game has the 6-8 Cougars battling the 15-2 Spartans. The Spartans have a potent lineup with 4 players averaging in double figures: Dakota Rold (17.2), Cole Burmeister (14.9), Josh Pettepier (12.2), and Trever Schulz (11.5). The Cougars in contrast have just one player averaging double figures in scoring with Jacob Holste’s 11.9 points per outing. The Spartans won the first meeting 67-52 on December 11th.

The doubleheader was postponed from last week following the passing of CAM Girls Head Coach Joe Wollum’s Son Brooks. Both schools have shown tremendous support to the family and they are in all of our thoughts and prayers here at KJAN as well.

Chris Parks will have the call from Elk Horn with pregame at 5:50pm prior to the girls game at 6:00pm. Catch the action on AM 1220, FM 101.1, and online at kjan.com. If technology permits we will provide video on our facebook page as well.
