Carleton claims Big 12 Player of the Week honors again

IRVING, Texas – Iowa State Senior guard Bridget Carleton collected her third Big 12 Player of the Week honor of the season, the league announced Monday. Today’s honor marks the 13th Big 12 weekly honor for the Chatham, Ontario, Canada native, which ranks first in school history and fifth in Big 12 history, tying former Big 12 Player of the year Brittney Martin.

Carleton led Iowa State to a 2-0 start in Big 12 action while averaging 29.5 points, 7.5 assists and 6.0 assists on the week while shooting 58.3 percent from the floor. Carleton started things off by leading Iowa State to a 38-point win over the Wildcats, finishing with 26 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

Against the Jayhawks, Carleton was phenomenal. She dropped 33 points and grabbed six rebounds and five assists. Her effort improved ISU to 12-2 on the year

Iowa State is back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 9 when it takes on TCU at 6:30 p.m.. The game will air on Cyclones.tv
