Audubon School Board meeting preview

The Audubon School District’s Board of Education will meet 7-p.m. Monday (Dec. 17).  During their session in the Boardroom at the High School, the Audubon School Board will take action on:

  • Approving the Contract for a New Superintendent. The candidates include: Eric Trager, Audubon 5th-12th grade Principal; Dennis McClain, current shared Superintendent/Elementary Principal for the Clay Center Everly Community Schools; Michael Still, Secondary Principal for the Lenox Community School District; Jeff Privia, Elementary Principal for the Underwood Community School District, and Cory Lahndorf, PK-12 Principal for the HLV Community School District, in Victor.  When the Board met Dec. 11th, Superintendent Brett Gibbs submitted his resignation (effective the end of the current school year, and accepted an early retirement package.
  • They’ll act on accepting additional (if any) Early Retirement Applications. (Three early retirement requests were approved during their meeting Dec. 11th.)
  • And, the final readings of policies pertaining to: Board President, Vice-President, Technology & Data Security of 3rd Party Vendors, and Dissemination of Policy.

They’ll also act on approving the At-risk Drop Out Prevention Plan, and a Policy Review Committee recommendation. Updates during the meeting include: TLC Instructional Coaching; A review of Audubon’s ESSA Accountability Results; the Superintendent’s report, and other scheduled, regular reports. A Work session will precede the regular session, beginning at 6:30-p.m.
