Union County Sheriff’s report (10/22): guns stolen from Lorimor home

The Union County Sheriff’s Office says a woman from Lorimor reported early Saturday morning, that someone damaged a window at her home located in the 1100 block of Yellow Rose Avenue. Once inside, a Bersa Thunder .380 pistol was stolen. The weapon has a pink grip. Also missing, was a.17-caliber Savage rifle. The loss from the damage and theft was estimated at $900.

The sheriff’s office said also, a 2007 Chevy Malibu driven by 18-year old Louis Lumbard, of Diagonal, went out of control and rolled into a ditch and through a fence off of Pole Road before ending-up back on its wheels. The accident happened at around 12:23-p.m. Saturday. Authorities say Lumbard lost control of the car when he took his eyes off the road to look into the east ditch. He was unable to correct the vehicles’ path in-time.  Damage from the incident amounted to $4,500. Lumbard was not injured, and there were no citations issued.
