Officials with the Iowa Dept. of Transportation report that on Wednesday, Sept. 19th, staff from the De Soto maintenance garage will replace the culvert under Willow Avenue on the north side of Iowa 44 in Guthrie county, weather permitting.

The project will begin at 7:30 a.m. and is expected to be completed by 3:30 p.m. No official detour will be in place during this closure.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
