...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON TODAY (Aug. 20th)
* Areas of heavy rain expected, with widespread additional amounts
ranging from 1 to 3 inches. Locally higher amounts are possible.
The heaviest rain is expected along and east of the Missouri
River this morning.
* This will cause rises of streams. If rainfall rates are high
enough once the ground becomes saturated, it could lead to
flash flooding, especially in urban areas. This includes
Omaha, Council Bluffs and Lincoln.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
