(Update) – 2 injured in accident south of Atlantic, Saturday

In an update to our earlier report, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office today (Monday), said 18-year old Tallon Wilson, of Griswold, and 35-year old Nicole Jensen, of Lewis, were transported by ambulance to the Cass County Memorial Hospital, Saturday, following an accident that happened at around 1:25-p.m.  southwest of Atlantic, at Memphis and White Pole Roads. Authorities say a 2005 Chevy Uplander driven by Jensen, was traveling southwest on White Pole Road following a tractor, when the vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2009 Chevy Impala driven by Wilson.  Damage to vehicles was estimated to be $5,000 each. Wilson was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.

And, on June 28th, at around 5:43 p.m., the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident at 570th Street and White Pole Road. A 2000 Chevy Cavalier owned and driven by 60-year old Paule Marie Hayes, of Clarinda, was eastbound on White Pole Road when the vehicle was hit on the front driver’s side by a 2005 Dodge Stratus driven by 18-year old Rodney Harris Blackwell, of Davenport. Hayes, a passenger in her vehicle, and Blackwell were all taken to Cass County Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Damage to the Chevy is estimated at $2,000; damage to the Dodge is estimated at $2,500. Blackwell was cited for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign and Yield Right of Way.
