IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a man whose body was recovered from the Iowa River in downtown Iowa City.

He’s been identified as 42-year-old Mohammad Albaghdadi. Test results to confirm the cause and manner of his death are pending.

Pedestrians on a bridge spotted the body amid tree branches around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Sheriff’s deputies used boats to take the body to shore.
