Pursuit in Shelby County Friday results in 2 arrests

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Tuesday evening, released information about a pursuit that took place Friday. Authorities say at around 3:34-p.m., a Shelby County Deputy was on general patrol in Panama, and had attempted to stop a small white sports car with New York plates traveling south bound on Highway 191 near Elmwood Road.

When the vehicle’s driver refused to yield, a pursuit began south bound on highway 191. The Shelby County Deputy advised speeds reached near 150-mph. The suspect vehicle eventually slid off the road at Highway 191 and Tamarack Road. Two men fled on foot from the vehicle, but were apprehended.

They were identified as 20-year-old Wayne Koster, of New York, and 25-year old Cody Doss, of Council Bluffs. Koster is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail on charges that include Felony Eluding, OWI 1st Offense, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Prohibited acts with a bond of $7,000 dollars.

Doss was being held in the Shelby County Jail for Carrying weapons, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Interference with Official Acts/Providing false information to a peace officer. Doss’ bond was set at $2,000 dollars. Both subjects have current outstanding warrants from outside agencies.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the pursuit and apprehension of both suspects by the Iowa State Patrol and the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office.
