The Atlantic Trojans baseball team picked up a win in Red Oak on Thursday night by the final of 14-1 but it was a much tighter game than that until the late innings. The Trojans jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first but everything went cold after that until the sixth. Atlantic got 3 across in the 6th with a double by Chase Mullenix and a single by Jaxson Eden driving in runs. Atlantic then piled up 9 runs in the 7th as Red Oak struggled to get the final out of the inning. Brody O’Brien had a bases clearing double as part of that big 7th inning. Red Oak got their lone run across on a single by Garrett Couse.

Chase McLaren pitched six strong innings for Atlantic, allowing no runs on 1 hit and 10 strikeouts with just two walks. Mason Goergen pitched the seventh to finish the game for Atlantic.  Atlantic improves to 2-0 on the season with the win.

Carter Bruce took the loss for the tigers by pitching 5 2/3 innings, allowing 5 runs on 8 hits with 8 strikeouts and 1 walk. The Tigers fall to 0-2 on the season.
