Former Iowa standout point guard Jeff Horner has been named the new Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. He is set to be introduced to the campus community in a meet and greet this morning at 10:00am in the Student Union Building.

Horner comes to Truman State after a four-year stint at the University of North Dakota. He served as UND’s director of operations for one season before becoming an assistant coach from 2015-2018. Horner also had previous coaching stops at Grand View University as an assistant for one year and head coach at West Des Moines Valley High School for three seasons.

Horner is still Iowa’s all-time leader in assists and three-pointers made. He played professionally in four stops from 2006-2009 after his Iowa career.

Horner takes over the Bulldog program from Chris Foster who resigned to take the head coaching position at McKendree University. Truman State was 20-11 in the 2017-18 campaign.
