Authorities ask for help in ID’ing possible suspects in shooting

Officials with the Iowa Dept. of Public Safety say at around 1:30-a.m. Sunday, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shooting at the rest stop located at exit 159 in Dows, Iowa.  The shooting victim was transported to North Iowa Mercy Hospital for treatment.  The incident is being investigated by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa State Patrol, the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.

As a result of the investigation, investigators are asking for the public’s assistance identifying the two individuals who were captured on video at a nearby convenience store prior to the shooting. (The images are posted below, click to enlarge)

The black male and female were driving a gray or silver 4-door SUV, possibly a Jeep Cherokee.
