Here is the latest Mid-America sports news from The Associated Press

AMES, Iowa (AP) — Freshman Lindell Wigginton scored 24 points and Iowa State held off rival Iowa 84-78, its eighth straight home win over the Hawkeyes. Nick Weiler-Babb had 15 points and 10 assists for the Cyclones (6-2), who’ve won six in a row after a 0-2 start.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) — Klint Carlson scored 24 points, Spencer Haldeman added 10, including a key 3-pointer with 25 seconds left, to help Northern Iowa beat UT Arlington 62-58. Northern Iowa (7-2) led 59-52 with three minutes remaining before Kaelon Wilson and Kevin Hervey each made a 3-pointer to pull the Mavericks to 59-58 with 50 seconds left.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Chiefs and Raiders are both 6-6 and tied atop the AFC West with four games left in their season. So to say that their meeting Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium is important would be an understatement. Kansas City is trying to turn things around after losing four in a row, while Oakland has won two straight and three of four to get into contention.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Chiefs coach Andy Reid turned over some of the play-calling duties to offensive coordinator Matt Nagy last week, and the immediate returns were good. But that wasn’t enough for Reid to guarantee Nagy another shot this weekend.
