Overnight pursuit begins in Council Bluffs – ends in Treynor

A pursuit that began at around 3:30-this (Monday) morning in Council Bluffs, ended in Treynor, with three suspects taken into custody. After Officers began their pursuit of a white Buick Lucerne. The vehicle fled east bound on Veteran’s Highway (Highway 92) where officers were able to deploy Stop Sticks deflating several of its tires. The Buick continued to flee from officers where it eventually became disabled in Treynor at Heesch Avenue and Highway 92. Council Bluffs Police assisted by Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Deputies, arrested three people in the vehicle.

The driver, 20-year old Nathen Brian Allen, of Carter Lake, was arrested on warrants for Probation Violation and Gatherings where marijuana is used. He was also charged with Driving While Barred, Possession of a Controlled Substance/Meth, Felony Eluding, Fraudulent plates, Reckless Driving, Possession of Drug paraphernalia, and Bringing contraband into a corrections facility. A passenger, 20-year old Tierney Rae Eckley, of Council Bluffs, was arrested on a Mills County warrant, a No contact order violation, and Possession of meth. A second passenger, 18-year old Sarah Jeanette Croson, of Council Bluffs, was arrested for Possession of meth.

The vehicle had fled from officers numerous times over the past couple of days, most recently at approximately, 2:55 am. today (Monday).  Metro area departments were notified of the vehicle fleeing into Nebraska. At approximately 3:15 am Omaha Police Dispatch advised the vehicle had been spotted traveling south bound on the John F. Kennedy Highway (Highway 75). Council Bluffs Police officers monitoring the access points back into Iowa, located the vehicle as it returned back into Iowa on the Veteran’s Highway. At the time the vehicle was operating without headlights. Officers attempted to initiate traffic stop on the vehicle when it failed to yield and fled. It was at that time officers initiated pursuit of the vehicle, which, as mentioned, ended in Treynor.
