IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Nate Stanley threw for 226 yards and five touchdowns, and Iowa throttled third-ranked Ohio State 55-24, dealing what’s likely to be a fatal blow to the Buckeyes’ playoff hopes. Josh Jackson added three interceptions for the Hawkeyes, who beat their fourth top-5 opponent in their last five tries at home. Iowa raced out to a 31-17 halftime lead on a pair of Stanley touchdown passes to Noah Fant and cruised from there.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Will Grier threw two touchdown passes, Justin Crawford broke out of a three-game slump with 102 rushing yards and West Virginia held on for a 20-16 victory over No. 14 Iowa State on Saturday. West Virginia (6-3, 4-2 Big 12) became bowl eligible and knocked the Cyclones (6-3, 4-2, No. 15 CFP) out of a four-way tie for first place. Iowa State trailed 20-0 and never recovered in losing on the road for the first time.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Clayton Thorson sneaked into the end zone on fourth-and-1, and Northwestern’s defense came up with a big sack and pass breakup in overtime for a 31-24 win over Nebraska. The Wildcats are the first Football Bowl Subdivision program to win three consecutive overtime games. Justin Jackson ran 31 times for 154 yards and a touchdown, and Thorson threw for 243 yards for the Wildcats

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Chiefs have activated linebacker Tamba Hali from the physically unable to perform list, though it’s uncertain whether the five-time Pro Bowl selection will play Sunday in Dallas. Hali missed the entire offseason program and training camp to rest and rehabilitate his ailing knees. He practiced for the first time Thursday and was taken off the PUP list Saturday. Cornerback D.J. White was waived to create roster space for him.
