Radio Iowa has released their opening top ten rankings for the 2017 high school football season in each class.

Locally Audubon checks in at #3 in the opening 8-man rankings as they return a strong core from an 8-2 squad last season.  Fremont-Mills is right behind them at #4 coming off a semifinal run last year.

St. Albert is #2 in the opening Class A rankings after their appearance in the semifinals last year.

Kuemper Catholic is ranked #3 in Class 2A coming off a 9-2 season that ended in the quarterfinals.

Creston Orient-Macksburg checks in at #7 in the Class 3A poll and Lewis Central is #6 in Class 4A.
