KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Chiefs signed their first three draft picks, 12 college free agents and claimed running back Kelvin Taylor off waivers from Seattle as they began their rookie minicamp Saturday. Kansas City reached agreements with fourth-round pick Jehu Chesson, fifth-round pick Ukeme Eligwe and sixth-round pick Leon McQuay the Third. The rest of the Chiefs’ six draft picks are also expected in for minicamp, including their first-round pick Patrick Mahomes the Third.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Carlos Santana and Francisco Lindor hit back-to-back home runs with two outs in the ninth inning to lift the Cleveland Indians to a 3-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals Saturday. The Royals led 1-0 going into the eighth, but the bullpen could not hold it.

ATLANTA (AP) — Mike Leake won his fourth straight decision, Matt Carpenter and Matt Adams homered as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Atlanta Braves 5-3 Saturday night. Aledmys Diaz went 3 for 4 and drove in two runs to help the Cardinals improve to 12-5 since beginning the season 3-9.

ATLANTA (AP) — St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Jedd Gyorko has been scratched from Saturday night’s lineup because of a sore right hand. Gyorko took a bad hop off his throwing hand in the second inning of Friday’s 10-0 win over the Atlanta Braves. He left in the bottom of the sixth inning.
