WAUSA, Neb. (AP) – Authorities say an 18-year-old who was set to graduate from the Griswold High School has died in a Knox County, NE, crash. Griswold School Superintendent Dave Henrichs has confirmed Sarah Hubert died in the crash that happened at around 3:45-p.m. Wednesday, at a highway intersection south of Wausa. Hubert graduated from Griswold at the end of the last semester and was set to receive her diploma and participate in the graduation ceremony, this Sunday.

The Nebraska State Patrol says Hubert was westbound on Nebraska Highway 59 when her vehicle was struck on the driver’s side. The patrol says Hubert had failed to yield as required to a northbound vehicle on Nebraska Highway 121. The other vehicle was driven by 17-year-old John Rosberg, of Wausa. It’s unclear whether he was injured.

Grief Counselors will be on hand today (Thursday) for all students of the Griswold School District.
