1 person injured in Guthrie County accident Sunday night

The Iowa State Patrol said Tuesday a man was critically injured when he was struck by a vehicle Sunday night as he stood by his vehicle which partially on the traveled portion of a road in Guthrie County. The accident happened east of Yale at around 9:37-p.m., Sunday. Authorities say 38-year old Curtis Moorhead, whose residence was listed as Perry, but at last report lived in Jamaica, was outside his vehicle on eastbound County Road F-25  just west of Wink Avenue and putting gas into the tank, when he was struck by an eastbound Dodge van driven by Misty Mast.

Afterward, he was transported by helicopter to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, where was last reported to be in critical condition. One adult and three children were said to be in Moorhead’s vehicle when the accident happened, but no one else was injured.

An investigation into the incident was ongoing.
