Atlantic will try to get the offense going at Creston O-M

The Atlantic Trojans Football team will go on the road Friday night to face the Creston Orient-Macksburg Panthers in a Class 3A District 7 game.  The Trojans come into the contest with a 1-3 record, coming up short in 3 close games after a season opening win against Clarinda.  A big reason the Trojans haven’t been able to get back into the win column has been a sluggish offense and Head Coach Mike McDermott says his team has been working on finding a way to get the run game going.

While Atlantic works to get the run game going the Trojan defense knows they will be facing a powerful rushing attack from Creston led by star Running Back Chase Shiltz.  Schiltz has rushed for nearly 700 yards on the season already and is averaging over 9 yards per carry for the Panthers. Coach McDermott knows the Trojans will need to try to slow him down first and foremost.

Creston Head Coach Brian Morrison knows the talent he has with Shiltz in the backfield to establish the run and he gives a lot of credit to the guys paving the way along the offensive line.

With their strong 4-0 start to the season the Panthers are eyeing one of the top two spots in the district to get into the playoffs.  Coach Morrison said his players have been focused on trying to take it one week at a time and putting their best effort on the field every Friday.
