In Monday baseball, Red Oak downed Atlantic 3-1 in a game played at Principal Park in Des Moines.  Tigers pitcher Carlos Guerra held the Trojans in check, giving up only one hit and striking out 12 in the complete game.  Ryker Connell belted a two-run single in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie and give the Tigers the win.

Also, Abraham Lincoln split a doubleheader with Thomas Jefferson, the Lynx winning 4-1 in the first game and the Yellow Jackets grabbing the second game 5-3.

In Monday softball, Lewis Central swept a pair from Creston 4-2 and 13-10.  Sioux City East beat Thomas Jefferson twice by identical 12-0 scores.
