THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE THIS MORNING…AND ARE LIKELY THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. SOME OF THE STORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING MAY BE SEVERE. ALTHOUGH THE PRIMARY THREATS WILL BE LARGE HAIL AND STRONG WINDS…AN ISOLATED TORNADO CANNOT BE RULED OUT. THE BEST CHANCES FOR SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE BETWEEN 5 PM AND 8 PM.

THUNDERSTORM CHANCES WILL CONTINUE INTERMITTENTLY THROUGH THE WEEK. SEVERE WEATHER IS POSSIBLE AGAIN LATE TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY…MAINLY SOUTH OF U.S. HIGHWAY 34. ALTHOUGH THE PRIMARY THREATS WILL BE LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS…AN ISOLATED TORNADO CANNOT BE RULED OUT ESPECIALLY ALONG AND SOUTH OF THE IOWA HIGHWAY 3 CORRIDOR.

SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…SPOTTER ACTIVATION MAY BE NEEDED THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

MONONA-HARRISON-SHELBY-POTTAWATTAMIE-MILLS-MONTGOMERY-FREMONT-PAGE COUNTIES…..

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT PARTS OF EASTERN NEBRASKA AND SOUTHWEST IOWA THIS MORNING. SOME STORMS MAY PRODUCE HAIL AND GUSTY WINDS. STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS COULD DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON AND MAY LAST INTO THE EVENING. THE MAIN HAZARDS ARE EXPECTED TO BE LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS. CHANCES ARE HIGHEST OVER EASTERN NEBRASKA DURING THE AFTERNOON…THEN THERE SHOULD BE AN EASTWARD SHIFT THROUGH THE EVENING HOURS.

THE NEXT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS IS TUESDAY…ESPECIALLY DURING THE AFTERNOON AND INTO TUESDAY NIGHT. STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE. THE ACTIVE PATTERN SHOULD CONTINUE WITH A CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS WEDNESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY NIGHT…THEN AGAIN FROM FRIDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.
