WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO NOON CST TUESDAY…

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN OMAHA/VALLEY HAS ISSUED A WIND CHILL ADVISORY…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO NOON CST TUESDAY.

* WIND CHILL VALUES…WILL PLUNGE INTO THE 20 TO 27 BELOW RANGE AROUND OR SLIGHTLY AFTER MIDNIGHT…AND REMAIN THERE UNTIL NOON TUESDAY.

* OTHER IMPACTS…FROST BITE CAN OCCUR QUICKLY ON UNPROTECTED SKIN. ALSO…HYPOTHERMIA CAN SET IN QUICKLY IF THE BODY IS NOT INSULATED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS…MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES.
