GUTHRIE CENTER, Iowa (AP) – Authorities in west-central Iowa are investigating the death of a man found inside a burnt vehicle.  The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office says it responded to a call Sunday about a burnt vehicle. Officers discovered the body inside.  The state medical examiner’s office has identified the body to be that of Bobby Joe Knapp. The cause and manner of his death have not been released pending further investigation and lab testing.

On Thursday, the U.S. Marshals Service put out information about Knapp, who had a warrant out for violation of parole status. Authorities say the burnt vehicle was a stolen car that Knapp had been suspected of driving.  The state Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting in the case.
