…WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM CST SUNDAY…

* TIMING…SNOW WILL SPREAD ACROSS THE AREA LATER THIS EVENING WITH THE HEAVIEST SNOW FALLING DURING THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF SUNDAY. THE SNOW IS EXPECTED TO COME TO AN END SUNDAY MORNING…ALTHOUGH FLURRIES MAY LINGER THROUGH THE DAY.

* STORM TOTAL SNOW/ICE ACCUMULATIONS…5 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW CAN BE EXPECTED TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY.

* WINDS/VISIBILITY…GUSTY NORTH TO NORTHWEST WINDS WILL DEVELOP TONIGHT AT 15 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 25 TO 30 MPH AND CONTINUE INTO SUNDAY. BLOWING SNOW COULD REDUCE VISIBILITIES FURTHER IN ADDITION TO FALLING SNOW.

* IMPACTS…ROADS WILL BECOME SLICK AS THEY BECOME COVERED WITH SNOW. HAZARDOUS TRAVEL WILL BE POSSIBLE DUE TO THE SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW…SLEET…AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.
