No. 7 Iowa State beats No. 16 Texas Tech at Big 12 Tournament

Seventh ranked Iowa State outscored 16th ranked Texas Tech 23-6 to start the second half and raced away to a 75-53 victory at the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City. The Cyclones shot a sizzling 65 percent in the second half to advance to Friday night’s semifinal round and avenge a regular season loss to the Red Raiders.
It was the second straight lopsided win at the tournament as ISU improves to 27-6.
The Cyclones have elevated their level of play with the start of the postseason.
The Cyclones are halfway home in their quest to win four games in four days to capture the tournament title.
Senior guard Tamin Lipsey led the way with 20 points as the Cyclones overcame a sluggish start that saw them trail 17-5 in the opening half.
Lipsey says the Cyclones are building momentum heading into Friday night.
