Northern Iowa wins MVC Tournament

Northern Iowa is dancing after an improbable run in St Louis.
J.W. Cox on the Panthers Sports Network. UNI never trailed an an 84-69 win over Illinois-Chicago as the Panthers became the first team to win four games in capturing the Missouri Valley Tournament title.
That’s UNI coach Ben Jacobson. The Panthers turned it around after losing their final two home games of the regular season.
It it UNI’s first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2016.
Senior guard Trey Campbell led the Panthers with 23 points. The native of Cedar Falls was six-of-nine from three point range.
Junior guard Leon Bond III finished with 10 points and joined Campbell on the All Tournament Team. He was one of 11 players who returned from last season with the hopes of returning to the NCAA Tournament.
The Panthers will take a 23-12 record into the NCAA Tournament.
