“At its regularly scheduled meeting on February 11, 2026, the Atlantic Community School District Board of Education approved the Superintendent’s recommendation to terminate the employment contract of Jesse McCann. This action followed a formal notice recommending termination to the Board. “Additionally, Iowa law governing teacher contract matters require that personnel proceedings be handled in accordance with statutory due process requirements. The District will continue to cooperate fully with the BOEE and local law enforcement authorities. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. The District is committed to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment and to following all applicable policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Additional information will be shared as appropriate and when permitted by law.”
