CARY PHILLIP BALLOU, 74, of Exira, died Thursday, January 29, 2026, at his home in Exira. A memorial service for CARY BALLOU will be held 11-a.m. Tuesday, February 03, 2026, at the Exira Lutheran Church in Exira.Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Exira has the arrangements.

A reception will follow the memorial service in the church’s Fellowship Hall.

Public visitation with the family will be held at the Exira Lutheran Church, from 10-until 11-a.m., Tuesday.

His son – Colt (Taylor) Ballou.

His step-sons: Clint Jessen and Rob (DeeDee) Jessen.

His brothers – John (Diana) Ballou, Dennis (Marlene) Ballou.

His sisters – Joyette (Kevin) Henry; Sharen (Ed) Rathbun; Mary (Bill) Bontrager; and Judith (Denny) Nielsen.
