The 10th ranked Iowa Hawkeye women closed the opening quarter with a 16-3 run, Sunday afternoon, and crushed 12th rankled Ohio State 91-70 in Iowa City. The Hawkeyes are 9-0 in the Big Ten. There was a costly loss early. Senior starting guard Taylor McCabe was carried off the quarter after the opening possession with an apparent knee injury. Freshman Addy Deal came off the bench to lead Iowa with 20 points.

That’s Iowa coach Jan Jensen, who says the extent of the injury to McCabe was not known.

It was a third straight win against a rated foe as the Hawkeyes improve to 18-2 overall and remain unbeaten at home.
