The second ranked Iowa State men will look to bounce back from their first loss of the season on Saturday when they visit Cincinnati. The Cyclones are 16-1 after an 84-63 loss at Kansas on Tuesday night.

That’s ISU coach T.J. Otzelberger. Cincinnati is 1-3 in the Big 12 after Wednesday night’s 77-68 win over Colorado.

The Cyclones have been an outstanding second half team but slow starts have been an issue. Otzelberger says they are working to change that.

Senior forward Joshua Jefferson says the Cyclones remain a confident team.

ISU has shown the ability to pick up the defensive intensity at the start of the second half. Jefferson says they need that type of effort at the start of games.

Jefferson says it has been difficult to diagnose the exact cause of slow starts.
