Iowa men stumble late at No. 5 Purdue

Not enough stops at crunch time sunk Iowa’s upset bid at fifth ranked Purdue. The Boilermakers connected on nine of their last 10 shots in a 79-72 win. The Hawkeyes led by as many as nine points in the second half, before suffering their third straight loss.

Iowa falls to 2-4 in the Big Ten and is still searching for its first road win.

Bennett Stirtz led Iowa with 19 points. Kael Combs had 16 points, including four-of-five from three point range.

They will get another chance on Saturday with a visit to Indiana.
