IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa seniors Claire Ammeraal and Milana Moisio earned All-Big Ten recognition following the 2025 season, the league announced on Tuesday.

Both Hawkeyes were named to the All-Big Ten Second Team.

Ammeraal, a setter from Madison, Wisconsin, concluded her career with her best season yet. Her 1,190 assists were the second-most in the Big Ten. She had 12 double-doubles, which were good for third-most in the Big Ten. Ammeraal brought her own offensive firepower with 179 kills and 1.43 kills per set. She finished third on the team with a .317 hitting percentage. All three marks were career bests. She was the most offensive setter in the league, finishing as the only setter with more than 100 kills and with more than one kill per set on average.

In her final season, Ammeraal added two triple-doubles, including one in Iowa’s win over Northwestern. She averaged a career-best 9.52 assists per set during her senior campaign. While running Iowa’s offense, Ammeraal guided the Hawkeyes’ attack to its best hitting percentage since 2016. Iowa finished the year hitting .243.

Ammeraal was drafted with the sixth pick in the third round and 22nd overall in the 2025 MLV Draft to the Omaha Supernovas.

Moisio, a libero from Waukegan, Illinois, spent her final year of eligibility with the Hawkeyes and produced the best season of her career. Moisio started every match at libero and finished second in the Big Ten with 451 digs. She was sixth in the league with 3.52 digs per set. Both were career highs.

Moisio finished with 10+ digs in 26 matches this season and surpassed 15 digs in 14 contests. She posted her career high against Michigan, where she dug 26 attacks. Moisio went on an impressive stretch of defense in early November, recording an average of 20 digs per match against No. 18 Indiana, No. 9 Purdue, Northwestern and No. 20 Minnesota. Additionally, Moisio added 115 assists and neared a double-double with 14 digs and nine assists against No. 25 Penn State.

Moisio also earned the Big Ten’s Sportsmanship Award as Iowa’s honoree.

This is the first time since 2021 that a Hawkeye has received All-Big Ten postseason recognition when Courtney Buzzerio was named to the second team.

The Hawkeyes finished the 2025 season with a 15-17 record and were 6-14 in the Big Ten.
