Iowa State basketball star Audi Crooks supporting families in need with care package

ALGONA, Iowa — Iowa State Cyclones basketball star Audi Crooks is giving back to her hometown as many families face food insecurity with their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits possibly being delayed during the federal government shutdown. KCCI reports the Audi Crooks Foundation has launched “Knock N Dash,” a doorstep care-package program to help Kossuth County residents weather the strain caused by the SNAP delays.
With many households experiencing gaps and uncertainty around SNAP disbursements, local families are facing tougher choices at the grocery checkout. Knock N Dash aims to bridge those gaps quickly and quietly: residents complete a short form noting household size and location, and volunteers deliver care packages directly to their doors — no questions asked and no judgment.
At its heart, Knock N Dash is a neighbor‑to‑neighbor response to an urgent moment — one knock at a time, ensuring fewer families go without while SNAP benefits are delayed during the shutdown.
