Gold Team Wins 2025 Black and Gold World Series

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Gold Team won the University of Iowa baseball team’s annual Black and Gold World Series taking the decisive game three, 10-3 in a seven-inning game on Friday afternoon at Duane Banks Field.
Nick Terhaar got the start for the Gold team throwing four innings allowing one earned run and struck out one. Ty Mikkelsen, Nick Heitman and John Henry Kohorst closed down the final three innings allowing just one run and two hits.
Tate Slagel plated four runs for the Gold squad going 2-for-3 at the plate including a three-run home run. Brody Irlbeck (2-for-3) and Matthew Delgado (1-for-2) each had two RBIs.
Cole Moore started for the Black team and went two innings. Brolan Frost and Kyle Alivo each threw an inning, and Joe Husak threw two and struck out four.
Jaylen Ziegler, Caleb Wulf and Brett White each recorded an RBI in the contest.
UP NEXT: The Hawkeyes have concluded their fall slate. Iowa will open its spring season in February.
