Hawkeyes Win 2 Matches at Michigan Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Michigan – The University of Iowa women’s tennis team continued competition at the Michigan Invitational on Saturday, picking up two singles victories.
In singles play, sophomore Emma Tothová recorded her second win of the weekend, defeating Sabrina Tolstova of Eastern Michigan, 6-0, 6-4. Nikita Vishwase added a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Eastern Michigan’s Pehal Kharadkar. Eline Bex forced a third set against Regina Mendez of Eastern Michigan but fell 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. Pia Kranholdt battled Aely Arai of Miami before dropping a 6-2, 7-6 (3) decision, while Sally Xu lost 6-2, 6-4 to Eastern Michigan’s Matilde Parreira.
In doubles action, Kranholdt and Xu were defeated 6-0 by Sophia Cisse and Flora Johnson of Ohio State, while Vishwase and Tothová fell 6-2 to Ohio State’s Megan Basil and Hephzibah Oluwadare.
The Hawkeyes will conclude competition at the Michigan Invitational on Sunday.
