The Atlantic Cross Country teams are gearing up to host their annual meet at Nishna Hills Thursday. The coaching staff has been preparing all week for the 23 team meet and still have much to do on race day.

The 18-hole golf course gets transformed into a 5,000-kilometer cross country course requiring an all-day group effort.

Most golf course tracks can be flat without much of an incline but at Nishna Hills it’s an up and down terrain.

Head Coach Dan Vargason believes the course is terrific from a fan’s viewing standpoint.

The list of teams ranges from four different classes and even a Nebraska school comes over as well. This allows the Trojans to compete against several schools they haven’t raced against.

Middle school boys begin at 4:00 followed by the middle school girls at 4:15. JV Boys will be at 4:40, Varsity Boys at 5:05, Girls Varsity at 5:30 and Girls JV at 5:55.
