October 3rd, 2025 by Christian Adams
WACO, Texas – In its first of two Texas contests this week, Iowa State (4-4-2, 1-3-0 Big 12) was shut out for the second consecutive match as it fell to No. 20 Baylor (8-1-2, 3-1-0 Big 12) by a score of 3-0 Thursday evening.
After winning three straight, ISU has now lost three straight as it opened October with a road setback. For the second time in the last three contests, an opposing team had an athlete record multiple scores as Callie Conrad had a first-half brace for the Bears. A second-half score in the 72nd minute made it 3-0, as the Bears claimed their third-straight win.
Taylor Spitzer led the Cyclones in shots on the night, as the senior registered three attempts, placing one on target. Off the bench, freshman Sophie Forrester notched two shots, placing one on goal. In the net, Kasey Cannistraro recorded her second-highest save output with eight, all coming in the second half.
For the Bears, Conrad had a game-high two goals, coming on three shots. Baylor midfielder Olivia Hess attempted a game-high six shots and placed five on target. Alysiah Lockette scored Baylor’s third goal, making her only shot of the night count. Preseason All-Big 12 Team member Tyler Isgrig finished with four shots on the night.
Baylor held a 16-10 shot advantage on the evening, while ISU recorded more saves (8-3). The Bears attempted five more corner kicks (7-2) and committed more fouls than ISU (9-6).
