Iowa works to solve special teams miscues
September 18th, 2025 by Ric Hanson
Iowa is looking to clean up special teams mistakes as the Hawkeyes get ready for Friday night’s Big Ten opener at Rutgers. Kicker Drew Stevens missed an extra point and a 38-year field goal and the Hawkeyes had a punt blocked that led to the lone UMass touchdown in a 47-7 win. With an offense that struggles to create big plays the Hawkeyes margin for error is small and special teams mistakes will prove costly in the league race. Sophomore punter Rhys Dakin.
